Ashford Oaks

Phase 1 of the upscale Ashford Oaks community in Lexington, Kentucky has a beautiful entrance made with dry laid stonewalls and a handsome guardhouse to provide security and a sense of place. Residents can enjoy a leisurely stroll or an invigorating jog along the greenway park trail. Crossing the greenway is a lighted "bridge" for vehicular and pedestrian use. Textured pavement heightens the experience of this special crossing. The Commons Park provides space for both community gatherings in the pavilion or quiet places for rest and contemplation on park benches tucked among the lush landscaped gardens.




Secretariat Monument

This landmark project in Lexington, Kentucky is located at the intersection of Old Frankfort Pike and Alexandria Drive. It serves as the transition point between one of Lexington’s busiest industrial districts and Central Kentucky’s world renowned horse farms. The renovation of the existing roundabout included traditional dry stack stone walls, limestone signs, and enhanced landscaping. The focal point of the design is a larger then life-sized, bronze statue of Secretariat and jockey Ron Turcotte by Jocelyn Russell.




The Tradition at Parks Edge

The Tradition at Parks Edge is an upscale condominium community for empty nesters in Lexington, Kentucky. Design concepts addressed concerns regarding community identity, security, providing recreational gardening, and aesthetics. Entrance features include stone column gateways linked by traditional four-plank horse farm fencing woven within a lush landscape. The stone columns and wall are constructed with aged stone reclaimed from off-site demolition in order to provide a timeless quality for the new community.




Tuscany

Tuscany is a residential community in the Hamburg Area in Lexington, Kentucky. Community entrance walls, arbors, pergolas and plantings capture the community’s Northern Italian theme while providing an identifiable and memorable place. The entrance walls are constructed with sculpted stucco over brick to reflect the Tuscan style. The arbors and pergolas are constructed with cedar timbers and enhanced with climbing vines providing a splash of seasonal color and year-round interest.




Coventry

Barrett Partners provided the landscape amenity plans for this English themed mixed use neighborhood in Lexington, Kentucky. Plans included design for the neighborhood entrance and park. The entrance features two landscaped brick walls with cut stone signage and lighted columns. The gracefully curving walls provide an inviting gateway at the community entrance. The entrance is further enhanced with a landscaped median and large street trees providing an attractive streetscape. The small neighborhood park is equipped with lush landscaping, open lawn area, and a picnic pavilion providing space for community events, a relaxing stroll, or casual play for the kids.
