University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research

The University of Kentucky’s Center for Applied Energy Research is located on the University’s Newtown Road Campus in Lexington, Kentucky. The intent of the plan was to conserve existing natural areas, to restore damaged areas, to provide habitat and to promote biodiversity. The existing plan for the 9.27 acre site was reviewed and redesigned in order to meet LEED criteria. The criteria focused on WE Credit1: Water Efficient Landscape. Barrett Partners provided the LEED-NC 2.2 Submittal Template with the narrative for submittal. Services also included on-site observations of the planting and installation of the native trees, shrubs and wildflowers.
